Kahok Families,
The holiday season is upon us, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner! This is an exciting time for our students and families, but it can also be a busy and stressful season for both children and adults.
Helpful Tip for Navigating the Busy Holiday Season
As we navigate the next seven weeks, we encourage everyone to maintain consistent routines. While the holidays bring their share of comings and goings, keeping a regular evening schedule with a consistent bedtime during the week can be incredibly beneficial for students. This helps ensure they arrive at school rested and ready to take on the day.
Attendance is Important: Every Day Counts
When our district received information about our schools’ performance from the Illinois State Board of Education on Illinoisreportcard.com, we had much to celebrate, however, there are key areas that require improvement. We need to make student attendance a priority. Regular attendance has a direct, positive impact on a student’s academic performance and social-emotional development. Last year, our district's attendance rate was 92%. This year, we have set a target of 95% or higher. To achieve this, we need your help and ask that your child(ren) attend school unless they are sick. Being present at school is an important factor in student success. We want to see them!
Upcoming Winter Concert Dates
December is an exciting month for our band and choir programs. In the coming weeks, our talented students will be showcasing their musical skills through various performances. If you need some help getting into the holiday spirit, attending one of these events will surely do the trick. Please mark your calendars for the following performances:
